Original performances, unique variety numbers : Dozens of artists unite their voices for the cause
MONTRÉAL - January 20, 2010 - The media alliance comprising TVA Network, Société Radio-Canada, Télé-Québec, V Télé, LCN, MusiquePlus and MusiMax, TV5, Espace Musique, Astral Media Radio (NRJ, RockDétente, Boom FM), the stations of the Corus Québec network (98.5 FM, CKOI, Souvenirs Garantis) and CPAM, the Montréal ethnic radio station, are pleased to announce the artists who, as of today, have confirmed their participation in the big Ensemble pour Haïti show to be broadcast this Friday, January 22, from 8 to 10 p.m.
To be hosted by Luck Mervil and France Beaudoin, this will be a benefit concert of unprecedented reach in Québec. Touched by the recent earthquake in Haiti, the community of artists and artisans of these television and radio networks are joining forces to create a one-of-a-kind show that will include original performances and variety numbers by solo artists, but mainly acts by duos and groups. The artists who will give generously of their voices for this hope-filled evening are: Annie Blanchard, Ariane Moffatt, Brigitte M, Bruno Pelletier, Daniel Boucher, Diane Dufresne, Doriane Fabreg (Doba), Elisapie, Groupe H'sao, Gregory Charles, Lynda Thalie, Marc Hervieux, Marco Calliari, Marie-Chantal Toupin, Marie-Élaine Thibert, Marie-Ève Janvier et Jean-François Breau, Marie-Josée Lord, Marie-Jo Thériault, Mario Pelchat, Maxime Landry, Muzion, Nadja, Nomadic Massive, Paul Piché, Pierre Lapointe, Renée Martel, Roberto Lopez, Stéphanie Lapointe, Sylvain Cossette, la Troupe Mapou Ginen and Wilfred LeBouthillier.
To donate Many actors and well-known personalities will support these singers by volunteering at the call centres. Gildor Roy will host this part of the evening. The public will be able to donate by telephone, Internet, text message and Illico.
Public gatherings The community will also be able to come together to watch the show live on giant screen at two public gatherings in Montréal. Those interested to, can go to either La Tohu at 2345 Jarry Street East, or La perle retrouvée at 7655 20th Avenue in the Saint-Michel neighbourhood. Isabelle Racicot and Joël Legendre will be on site with these audiences to broadcast their comments live.
All revenues and funds raised during this evening will be given to established organizations working in Haiti, such as the Red Cross and CECI (Centre d'étude et de coopération internationale).

Ensemble pour Haïti is a collective of artists and artisans from all of Québec's main media who have decided to pool their talents and strengths to respond to the distress of the Haitian people.
