In 1950, Pierre Péladeau started laying the foundations for what was to become Quebecor when he purchased a Montréal weekly, Le Journal de Rosemont. Many more would follow. Today, more than 50 years later, weeklies remain a driving force in the Company's development. In Canada, our community newspaper division publishes a multitude of weeklies in English and French. Our Québec Community Newspapers Division publishes some 50 weeklies and a number of periodicals. It is firmly established in most regions of Québec. Bowes Publishers Limited publishes numerous dailies, weeklies and specialty products in Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario.
