The Winnipeg Sun is a tabloid newspaper with a focus on sports, commentary and local news, appealing to the younger demographic with disposable income and an active lifestyle. The Winnipeg Sun's predominant market area is the city of Winnipeg and its surrounding areas, as well as a large portion of Southern Manitoba.
The Winnipeg Sun includes a commercial print division which offers both web and sheet-fed printing, and a publishing division which publishes new and used vehicle data and a business development magazine (Trade & Commerce).
History
The Winnipeg Sun was founded by a group of local businessmen in 1980 after the demise of the Winnipeg Tribune. It was purchased by Quebecor in 1983, and became part of the Sun Media group in 1999.
