Quebecor Presents Part 3 of Solo Exhibition by Québec Painter Louis Boudreault

Quebecor is proud to present Écrits et pensées, another exhibition of works by internationally known Québec painter Louis Boudreault, in the gallery at its head office building until June 26.

Our goal when we opened the Quebecor gallery was to provide a showcase for talented Québec artists. The exhibits at the gallery are seen by our employees and visitors to our offices, and are open to all. We are very excited to be hanging works by an artist of Louis Boudreault’s talent in our gallery.

Écrits et pensées is Part 3 of a major series of exhibits devoted to the work of Louis Boudreault. In these touching portraits, the artist depicts his subjects as children or teens. The first two shows, Voix d’ici and Voix d’ailleurs, consisted of 44 paintings of 20th century figures from Québec and elsewhere.

Écrits et pensées presents paintings of 28 children who would grow up to become great writers and thinkers who influenced Boudreault and the contemporary world. The towering figures featured in the series include Jean-Paul Sartre, Simone de Beauvoir, Marguerite Duras, Gandhi, James Joyce, Anne Frank and Émile Nelligan. Most of the large scale paintings are from Boudreault’s Destinées series, which has been shown in Paris, London, New York and Hong Kong. All three sections of this important show, mounted specifically for the Quebecor gallery, were curated by Esteban Dravet.

Two paintings for Earth Day

On this 22nd day of April, Quebecor and Louis Boudreault wanted to mark Earth Day. At the opening, the painter will unveil portraits of two gurus of the current environmental movement, Hubert Reeves and David Suzuki. After the exhibit, the paintings will be donated to the foundations that bear their names.
