Historic $40 million donation to Université de Montréal to train the next generation of entrepreneurs

Update

In keeping with our founder Pierre Péladeau's commitment to Quebec's economic development, Quebecor and the Fondation Chopin-Péladeau have proudly announced a joint $40 million gift (split 50-50 between the two organizations) to Université de Montréal. The donation is the largest Quebecor has ever made and the largest the university has ever received.

The money will be used to:

  • Fund Millénium Québecor, a comprehensive entrepreneurship awareness, training and support program

  • Build Pavillon Pierre-Péladeau, a space dedicated to entrepreneurship and innovation, named in honour of our founder

  • Establish a business start-up fund

Support for entrepreneurship has always been embedded in our values. We believe that in order to promote the creation and growth of Quebec businesses, it is important to stimulate our young people's desire and audacity. The Pavillon Pierre-Péladeau and the Millénium Québecor program will promote early exposure to entrepreneurship among the university’s student body and help foster the emergence of a new generation of entrepreneurs.
