The Edmonton Sun was the initial expansion of the Toronto Sun Publishing Corporation. Its first issue was printed April 2, 1978. Over the years it has become the authoritative source for local news, sports and entertainment as well as covering the Alberta Legislature and offering insightful and colourful opinion on local and provincial matters. It is the recognized leader in retail advertising and promotional activity. It is an active supporter of the community from professional hockey to the theatre, the arts and the sciences.
