Quebecor has been in the book business for more than 20 years. Quebecor Media Book Group's Sogides Group subsidiary owns 13 general literature publishing houses, making it the largest book publisher in Québec, as well as Messageries A.D.P., an exclusive distributor of French-language books to major retail chains and independent bookstores. Les Éditions Quebecor
Éditions Quebecor, founded in 1977, is a prominent publishing house in both Québec and Europe. It has published a wide range of books in collections devoted to business, biographies, literature, novels, psychology, health, religion, spirituality, cooking, essays, new age and how-to books. Many have been translated into English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian or German.

Les Éditions Libre Expression
Operating in the field of fiction as well as non-fiction, Les Éditions Libre Expression has built a strong reputation based on the quality of its books intended for the public. Leader component of Éditions Quebecor Media, it ranks first in the category of biographies. Since 1976, Libre Expression has published more than 1,300 titles.  A general literature publisher, Libre Expression publishes novels, biographies and autobiographies, saga novels, essays in social science intended for mass audience, documents, some practical books, psychology works, illustrated reference books and travel guides, among which the famous series  GUIDES VOIR; Libre Expression has acquired publishing rights in French language for this series in Canada. Les Éditions Trécarré
Started in 1982, Les Éditions Trécarré has for a long time published books intended for the general public in a wide range of fields, including nature, regionalism, practical guides, cooking, educational publishing, youth and art books. In 2004, Trécarré has undertaken a major editorial reform and devoted its energies to the publication of educational titles and colour printed practical guides which made the firm famous. In 2005, its renewing efforts were rewarded with the unprecedented success of Aliments contre le cancer by Richard Béliveau and Denis Gingras. Les Éditions Internationales Alain Stanké
Started in 1975 by Alain Stanké, Les Éditions Internationales Alain Stanké has been known in the market and the general public as a publisher capable of « stunts ». For example, in the 1970s, it held world-wide rights for Richard Nixon's biography. A diversified and eclectic publisher, Stanké mostly publishes books intended for the general public: essays, narratives and accounts about current events and readers' concerns of a Canadian or a foreign nature.  Since 2003, Stanké is committed to explore new talents and younger authors.

Les Éditions Logiques
Started in 1987, Les Éditions Logiques describes itself as « the technology publisher ». This statement of identity must be read in a wide sense. Founded in 1956, CEC Publishing publishes and distributes textbooks for all levels, from kindergarten to university, and in all the core subjects taught in Québec schools. CEC's catalogue also includes reference books (grammars for the teaching of French and English, literary anthologies, dictionaries and atlases) as well as books on pedagogy and didactics. Its business now extends well beyond Québec's borders, Books released by CEC Publishing are used across Canada, in the U.S., France, Belgium, Switzerland and elsewhere.

Approximately 60% of its catalogue consists of Francophone writers from Québec, France, Belgium and Switzerland, making Éditions de l'Homme a prominent voice in French-language publishing internationally. Éditions de l'Homme publishes works of non-fiction in all fields. Éditions de l'Homme's Paris office, which was opened more than 30 years ago, helps promote its authors' works throughout the French-speaking world. Many of its books have also been translated and published under co-publishing arrangements with publishing houses in some 15 countries.

Utilis

Groupe Ville-Marie Littérature Inc.
Groupe Ville-Marie Littérature, a division of Sogides founded in 1990, is the largest family of literary publishers in Québec. Founded in 1953, Hexagone is the oldest publishing house dedicated to poetry in Québec. It is known throughout the French-speaking world. Its catalogue lists over a thousand titles and approximately 300 authors, including some of the biggest names in Québec literature. A good number have received top literary awards in Québec, Canada or France.

VLB éditeur, founded in 1976, publishes novels and essays for both specialized and general audiences. Many of the 800 titles in its catalogue have been widely distributed abroad or have been republished by foreign publishers in French or in translation.

TYPO, founded in 1984, publishes pocket books for the general public and for use in the schools. Its catalogue of approximately 150 titles consists of works by major Québec writers - the classics of Québec literature and contemporary works that are destined to become the classics of the future.
