Quebecor presents Grand Prix de la danse de Montréal 2014, accompanied by $15,000 purse, to Meg Stuart

Quebecor is proud to be associated with the Prix de la danse de Montréal for the fourth consecutive year as the presenter of the Grand Prix de la danse de Montréal. The award is accompanied by a $15,000 purse donated by Quebecor and private donors. This year’s winner is Meg Stuart, an American choreographer and dancer who presented her piece Built to Last at the Festival TransAmériques in May 2014. The Grand Prix de la danse de Montréal is awarded to a Canadian or foreign artist who has made an outstanding contribution to the dissemination and advancement of dance. The artist must have presented a work in Montréal between July 1, 2013 and June 30, 2014. The winner is chosen by a jury composed primarily of dance professionals.

Quebecor has been supporting the Prix de la danse de Montréal since its inception. The awards recognize the talents and exceptional contributions of dance artists while positioning Montréal as a vibrant centre of dance creation and dissemination. We congratulate Meg Stuart, the recipient of the Grand Prix de la danse de Montréal 2014, and Marie Chouinard, the originator of the Prix de la danse de Montréal.
