The Quebecor family is deeply saddened by the death of Rodger Brulotte in Montréal on March 20, 2026. Across the company, we honour the memory of a remarkable man whose warmth, talent and generosity touched so many. Since 2002, Rodger Brulotte stood as a defining presence in Québec’s sports and media landscape, leaving an enduring legacy as both a colleague and a friend.

Rodger’s authenticity and kindness made him a beloved figure in the hearts of Quebecers. He brought passion to his work and a rare ability to connect with people. Rodger helped shape the Journal de Montréal’s identity. He was—and always will be—one of its most iconic voices. It was a privilege to be able to count on him during all these years—as a respected columnist for the Journal, a gifted broadcaster on TVA Sports, and above all a friend. On behalf of everyone at Quebecor, I extend our deepest sympathies to his wife Pascale Vallée and to all his loved ones and colleagues. He will be profoundly missed.

The Journal has lost much more than an irreplaceable columnist; we have lost a friend and an unmatched ambassador. Wherever he went, he represented us with his unique warmth and humanity. He had a rare gift for instantly relating to people from all walks of life, from the most humble to the wealthiest, and everyone left feeling as though they had known him forever. He was close to everyone, and everyone felt close to him.

Rodger brought energy and life to everything he did, both professionally and personally. He earned respect and admiration across every field—politics, the arts and the community—while leaving an indelible mark on the world of sports, especially baseball. His distinctive voice and engaging personality drew viewers and all who knew him to Rodger. He leaves an unfillable void for his colleagues, his friends and his audience.
