Quebecor and TVA Sports: proud partners of the Québec City and Montréal Grands Prix Cyclistes

Quebecor and TVA Sports are proud to be associated with the 5th edition of the Grands Prix Cyclistes as a major sponsor and media partner. The event will be held September 11–14, 2014. As the official broadcaster, TVA Sports will carry the three professional races on the UCI World Tour live and in full: the Québec City and Montréal Grands Prix Cyclistes, two premier events on the world cycling scene, and the Challenge Sprint Pro. Quebecor is also pleased to sponsor the La Québécoise and La Montréalaise cyclosportives, two exciting events for Québec amateur cyclists held in conjunction with the Grands Prix Cyclistes.

As a major sponsor and official broadcaster of the Grands Prix Cyclistes, we are bringing Quebecers sporting events of the highest calibre. For television viewers, these are some of the most thrilling professional cycling races in the world and they will be broadcast to more than 130 countries. For Québec amateur cyclists, this is a rare opportunity to pedal along a magnificent course designed for world-famous champions. Naturally, Quebecor and TVA Sports are very proud to be associated with such high-profile sporting events. The Grands Prix Cyclistes are an international showcase for Québec and a high-adrenaline experience that is an inspiration to young Québec athletes and to all Quebecers.

Serge Fortin, Vice President, TVA Sports, added: This is the third time in as many years that the Québec City and Montréal Grands Prix Cyclistes will be carried by TVA Sports and this is something of which we are very proud. Eighteen UCI ProTeams will square off in Québec in the only North American stop on the UCI World Tour. Television viewers can look forward to explosive and spectacular performances on courses known for their many challenges, not to mention their beauty. TVA Sports will be at the starting line and will broadcast the races live from beginning to end. TVA will also be part of the action, carrying race highlights.

 

As a partner of the both, the professional and amateur events, Quebecor will help promote the Grands Prix Cyclistes and the La Québécois and La Montréalaise cyclosportives by leveraging the synergies among its subsidiaries. Quebecor’s involvement is in keeping with its longstanding commitment to cycling. For years, Quebecor has partnered with a number of other major cycling events in Québec, including the Grand défi Pierre Lavoie, the Granfondo Garneau-Québecor, the Tour CIBC Charles-Bruneau. Quebecor is also the proud sponsor of the Garneau-Quebecor pro team, which competes on the UCI Continental tour.

  • Thursday, September 11: Challenge Sprint Pro – 4:00 to 5:30 PM.
  • Friday, September 12: Grand Prix de Québec – 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM.
  • Sunday, September 14: Grand Prix de Montréal – 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM.

Broadcast times on TVA

  • Saturday, September 13: highlights of the Québec City race – 4:00 to 6:00 PM.
  • Sunday, September 14: TVA joins TVA Sports’ coverage from 2:30 PM until the end of the race.
